Soror Danielle Lee's Urban Science Adventures

Soror Danielle Lee is a graduate of Tennessee Technological University and is now completing her doctorate in Biology. You can follow her on her science and nature blog - Urban Science Adventures! (c) - - that introduces inner-city kids to science and conservation.

Recently, she entered an online contest to become the official Blogger for Quark Expeditions - a polar eco-tourism company. They are looking for blogger to join an upcoming Expedition to the Antarctic! The person who gets the most votes gets to travel to Antarctica February 2010 with the company.

Right now I'm #9 out 350+ people! But my position can and has slipped. So, that is why am asking for my sorors support. With the support of my online sorors I can get in the lead and stay there. Plus, it would be so exciting to be the first Alpha Kappa Alpha woman to visit the South Pole (I assume). The Alpha Kappa Alpha Facebook Fan page has also posted a note in support.

Here’s how the competition works:

1) Visit the contest page - click here.
2) Click the vote for Soror Danielle tab under her picture.
3) You will be required to submit your email and register in order to vote. One vote per valid email. Voting ends September 30th! (If you have multiple email addresses, please consider voting from each account.)
4) Check your email and confirm registration..
5) Go back to the contest page (use the link in the email) and confirm your vote.
6) Please spread the word to friends, other sorors (Facebook, Twitter, email), and your blog readers. I also have a widget you could post in your blog's sidebar, if you're interested.

Deadline is September 30, 2009
