Program Recap of Sister Will You Help Me


On January 4, 2007, the members of Pi Mu Omega, under the direction of Trina Gipson-Jones, RN, PhD, collaborated with the Cancer Institute of NJ at Cooper Hospital, and the Rancocas Valley Chapter of the Links, Inc. to launch the Burlington County Chapter of Sister Will You Help Me, a breast cancer support group for women of color and faith. This program proved to Encourage Cancer Screening to the Public. Below are some pictures from the event.




The program is the brain child of Diane Hyman, BSN, RN of Cooper Hospital.



The attendance was about 70 people including members of the sponsoring organizations, breast cancer survivors, and guests.

He discussed the different types of breast cancer, treatment options, survival rates and how cancer affects minorities. Cancer screening was also encouraged to improve survival rates.
